Ark Lifestyle Foundation is a Non-Governmental Organization with the main focus of supporting the needs of the Elderly in our Communities, Society and Country as a whole.

Our Core function is to bridge the social neglect gap for our Elderly and Retirees who do not enjoy and benefit from day-to-day Social Life and Care.

October is the month for the Elderly and 1st October is set aside as International Day for the Older Persons. Ark Lifestyle Foundation creates awareness about the needs to Care for the Elderly. We collaborate with like-minded cooperate organizations who shares in our values.

Ark Lifestyle Foundation marked its maiden edition of International Day for the Older Persons as passed by United Nations General Assembly on December 14th 1990 by collaborating with our stakeholders: Centre for Ageing Studies (CFAS), Association of Ghana Elders (AGE), F&G and TOBINCO FOUNDATION.

The celebration took place at the University of Ghana – Legon Sports Complex, we engaged with the Elderly from various churches, groups and retirees from different institutions. As part of the gathering we engage them in health screening exercise, physiotherapy sessions, dance exercise and healthy talks.

It was an honour for Ark lifestyle Foundation to collaborate with MTN Ghana Foundation on their 10th anniversary in the Eastern Region to mark the Easter festivities from 30th March – 02nd April 2018. Ark Lifestyle Foundation deemed it fit to explore other parts of the country hence accepting their invite.

We held a health screening exercise to engage the Elderly by checking their vitals and sugar levels. We had fun games such as: Ludo, Oware and light workout sessions. We were hosted at the forecourt of the Obo Palace with the support of Nana Gyasehene Dr. NANA OKRA-BADU III and the medical team from Obo Community Hospital.

Ark Lifestyle Foundation is a member of Ghana Non-communicable Diseases Alliance (GhNCD). In conjunction with International Day for the Older Persons celebration, Ark Lifestyle Foundation and Care4aged Outreach collaborated with the alliance.

The celebration was marked by a health screening exercise and grooming sessions. We engaged with the Elderly Persons from Ashiaman, a vibrant community at Sunagbe Government School. We had an open forum on Lifestyle and Behavioural changes. The areas of discussions were on a healthy diets, physical activities, lowering of alcohol and tobacco intake are simple measures to reduce premature death and disabilities from Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs).

Ark Lifestyle Foundation bridges the gap by engaging the Elderly and the youth on Valentine’s /Chocolate Day. Abelemkpe Basic ‘2’ School was selected for the exchange program between the Oldies and the Young to interact and exchange their views and ideas on technology taking over our lives. On this occasion our guest of honor was Hon. Lydia Seyram Alhassan MP of Ayawaso Wuagon Constituency which we fall under that jurediction.

The foundation celebrated Mrs. Rebecca Kofi-Opata, a client of the Ark Lifestyle Lounge with the pupils of Class 6 and JHS 3 students. There were various speeches from the Head teacher of the school Mr. Kwaku Antwi Boasiako, the CEO of Ark Lifestyle Foundation Mrs Estherlynne Osei-Bonsu, Mrs. Rebecca Kofi-Opata and some Elders of the foundation. We had an interacting moments from both the students, teachers and the Elders on MORALS and VALUES lessons.

Ark Lifestyle Foundation and Rotary Club of Accra East had a joint project on Blood donation exercise and our supporting guests were Rotary Club of Port Harcourt South (Nigeria) & Rotary Club of New Benin (Nigeria).

As demanded we had several screening measures to ensure donor’s health conditions as well as quick blood level test (HP) before donating. Aside the blood donation, the students had their health screened on Malaria, HIV, Hepatitis B & Siphilis and also had their blood pressure checked and were refreshed. We recorded about 50 blood donors and over 150 on health screening.

It was a good opportunity to collaborate with Rotary Clubs as Rotary is an international organization.

As the year draw to an end with non-existences activities for the Elderly due to COVID -19 pandemic, Ark Lifestyle Foundation saw the need to have a Pre-Christmas celebration for our Elderly and COVID-19 protocols were observed. The Oldies had much fun by engaging in telling their stories and experiences during the COVID – 19 era. They partied, played local games and dancing competitions.

The year 2021 took a different turn as Ark Lifestyle Foundation partnered Great Age Global in marking the International Day for Older Persons as AGEING & FAMILY HONOURS.

Arklifestyle Foundation and Great-Age Global – both social entities seek to address the needs of the Elderly. The team honored five Senior Retired Citizens to mark the year’s global International Day of Older Persons in Ghana. Ageing and Family Honours was held on Friday, October 1, 2021, at Kempinski Hotel in Accra. In attendance was a total of 59 participants comprising mainly senior citizens and some younger individuals.

As 2022 folds up to an end and being a tough year for man and country due to the economy crisis experienced globally, we found it needful to still celebrate with our Elderly folks of Help Age – Mamprobi Zone. Ark Lifestyle Foundation had the full sponsorship of the festive season celebration. The Elderly had fun by engaging us in their stories telling. They were entertained, played local games and had dancing competitions. In attendance was the Assembly Man of Mamprobi Sub Metro Hon. Joseph Adote Brown and his assistant.
